Tomorrow I need to impart a few key concepts of semiotics to the third year animators at Swinburne. This is an overview of things I’ve found useful in constructing and understanding meaning-making in visual media. At under 30 slides this presentation gives plenty of time for discussion and a few activities within a three hour tutorial. It’s a Frankenstein miss mash of lectures I’ve used in the past plus new material. In this way, my collection of presentations keeps growing and evolving. Unfortunately I don’t have time to add text here. You’ll have to make it up as you go along. That’s what I do!
