Hand to eye

When watching television or movie, even the most mediocre of offerings, the enthusiastic artist, I’ve found, can keep the pen moving and the hand to eye connection strong by drawing the frames. The drawing is partly observation, partly memory frantically trying to keep up. A bastardisation of rapid and blind contour drawing, life drawing mixed with observation drawing based on contemporary Western shot placement and editing conventions. I watched a lot of Daredevil Season 2 in this way, while in Germany. Good training, and a productive way to consume otherwise useless television.
