As a foray into biography and opportunity to make a better than average birthday card I put together this small comic for my mother.  She has had more than her fair share of trials and may well one day serve as a fine model for an extended narrative.  The aim here was to use a mix of stylized representation and photographic reference for the key panels.  Completed on 3-ply Bristol board using ink brush and traditional ‘dip’ style pens, this was a good learning experience in ink control and preplanning.
