I love strong contrast of black and white. I can remember falling in love with Frank Miller’s gritty noir crime series Sin City for the way in which he paints light and shadow. Both as a way of describing the world, and in the noir-specific venetian window blinds casting metaphoric lines of imprisonment over the face of every player in that intriguing world.
