In 2012 I enrolled in the Joe Kubert School of Cartooning’s correspondence course in inking. This led to me discovering traditional inking tools of dip pen and brush, and using ink washes. For practice I created Burnout. A seven-page side story set within the Faultlines universe, Burnout delves into the backstory of one of my favourite characters Emmet. Far from perfect and riddled with political incorrectness, Burnout briefly debuted at Supanova before fading into obscurity. It never made a second print run.
